How much does the 2022 Genesis G80 cost?

Prices have softened 8.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 246 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Genesis G80 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Genesis G80 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

The G80’s appeal is rooted in its quiet cabin, great ride quality, and premium interior materials, which fit its midsize luxury-sedan mission well. It also offers a straightforward choice between rear-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive, so you can prioritize traditional luxury feel or added traction.

The main trade-offs are its unintuitive technology and potentially polarizing design. Even so, the combination of upscale materials and a polished driving experience makes it a strong fit if you want comfort and refinement first.

Good and great deals account for 31.7% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Genesis G80 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The G80’s reliability case is helped by its premium-brand positioning, strong build quality, and the brand’s emphasis on quality and reliability. Its powertrains are paired with an eight-speed automatic, and the car’s smooth, controlled ride points to a well-sorted mechanical package.

Genesis also backs the car with a generous warranty and complimentary maintenance, which can reduce early ownership stress. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the car was maintained properly and that any technology or trim-specific equipment still works as intended.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Genesis G80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin electronics, infotainment controls, and exterior trim condition, since those are the kinds of details that can separate a great used luxury sedan from a frustrating one. Focus on overall condition, service records, and whether the equipment matches the trim level you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 2.5T gives you the core G80 experience, while higher trims add more luxury and convenience equipment. The available packages and upper trims are where you’ll find the richer materials and extra features that make the car feel more upscale.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. The four-cylinder is the efficiency-minded choice, while the V6 brings stronger acceleration and standard all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: The G80 includes a full suite of driver aids such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist with road edge detection, lane-following assist, and driver attention warning. These features are standard across the lineup.
• Infotainment: The car uses a 14.5-inch high-definition display, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Genesis Connected Services with native navigation. The interface can be finicky, so make sure you test it before you buy.
• Fuel efficiency: Four-cylinder models are rated at 23 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined with rear-wheel drive, or 22 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined with all-wheel drive. V6 models are rated at 17 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Genesis G80 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Genesis G80 is offered in 4 trim levels: 2.5T RWD, 2.5T AWD, 2.5T Advanced, and 2.5T Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5T RWD: This is the entry point and the best-value starting place if you want the G80’s luxury feel at the lowest price. It gives you the core comfort, safety, and tech experience without paying for extra drivetrain or trim upgrades.
• 2.5T AWD: Choose this if you want the same basic package with added traction. It makes sense if you live where weather or road conditions favor all-wheel drive.
• 2.5T Advanced: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of equipment and value. It adds more luxury and convenience content without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• 2.5T Prestige: Pick this if you want the most upscale version of the four-cylinder G80 and care most about premium materials and a richer feature set.

All G80 trims include the same core safety equipment, so you do not need to move up the lineup to get the main driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Genesis G80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 246 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.91% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,609, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Genesis G80's resale value?

The current average of $30,609 sits slightly below last year's $33,603.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale returns if you buy at the wrong price. If you plan to sell later, the key is to buy near the low end of the range and keep the car in excellent condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Genesis G80 safe?

The 2022 Genesis G80 earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earns five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for both the 2.5T and 3.5T models.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The G80 comes standard with a broad driver-assistance suite that includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist with road edge detection, lane-following assist, and driver attention warning. It also includes a full airbag set, stability and traction systems, and parking sensors.

A key strength here is that these safety features are standard across every G80. That means you do not need to shop a higher trim just to get the core protection and driver-assistance equipment.

Should I buy a 2022 Genesis G80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a quiet cabin, great ride quality, and premium interior materials.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $30,836, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $30,609 average.
• The redesigned 2021 emphasizes distinctive styling and upscale presentation.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better primary target if you want the strongest mix of value, safety, and comfort in this generation. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2021 can still make sense, but you should only choose it if the specific listing condition and equipment justify paying more than the 2022 average.
