How much does the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E cost?

Prices have softened 6.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 439 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, impressive performance, and advanced technology. They also like the comfortable interior and user-friendly features, which help make it an enjoyable daily driver.

The main trade-off is that some owners mention charging-related concerns and software issues, while the expert review also points to poor ergonomic design in the cabin. Even so, the Mach-E’s mix of sporty character and EV practicality makes it a strong fit if you want a more emotional electric crossover rather than a purely utilitarian one.

With 43.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you room to find a compelling example.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, with many drivers describing it as enjoyable to live with over time. The expert drive notes that its adaptive cruise control kept pace with traffic reliably, and its automated lane centering was among the smoothest in a mainstream-brand vehicle.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is less about traditional mechanical wear and more about software, charging, and battery-related concerns, so you should pay close attention to how the car has been maintained and updated.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been fast-charged frequently or shows signs of uneven wear. Focus on cabin condition, software behavior, charging performance, and whether the vehicle feels consistent in everyday use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Select trim is the entry point and can be missing some of the nicer convenience and driver-assistance equipment found higher up the range, while the Premium and First Edition versions add more upscale touches and a richer feature set.
• Powertrain: You can shop rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive versions, and the test data shows the base RWD setup makes 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, while the AWD setup in the test car delivered 346 hp and 428 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, reverse sensing, reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control with automated lane centering, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist. A 360-degree camera system is standard on higher trim levels, and Active Drive Assist is standard on the California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition trims.
• Infotainment: The Mach-E uses a 15.5-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus over-the-air software update capability. The instrument cluster measures 10.2 inches.
• Range & charging: The Standard Range battery pack is 68 kilowatt-hours, and the Extended Range pack is 88 kWh. DC fast charging can take the battery from 10% to 80% in 38 minutes, and Ford includes a cable for Level 2 charging from a 240-volt home outlet.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, ask how the car has typically been charged at home versus on DC fast chargers, and confirm how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is offered in 4 trim levels: Select, California Route 1, Premium, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry trim, and it makes the most sense if you want the Mach-E experience at the lowest starting point. It gives you the core styling, the standard tech suite, and the base rear-wheel-drive powertrain, but you give up some of the richer convenience and driver-assistance content found higher up.
• California Route 1: This trim is aimed at buyers who want more range-focused appeal and a better-equipped package than Select. It also gets Active Drive Assist standard, which makes it a strong choice if you want more advanced highway-driving capability without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale feel and includes Active Drive Assist standard. It also gets the upgraded B&O sound system, making it the sweet spot if you want a more complete Mach-E without paying GT money.
• GT: This is the performance-focused choice, with the most potent powertrain and the most aggressive character in the lineup. If you want the quickest Mach-E and are willing to pay for it, this is the trim to target.

Active Drive Assist is standard on the California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition trim levels, and it is part of a package on Select.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

The market leans in your favor right now, especially if you are shopping carefully and comparing listings.

• Deal availability: 43.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 439 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,790, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E's resale value?

The current average of $22,921 sits slightly below last year's $24,580.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what you can expect later as a seller. If prices remain soft, resale values may stay under pressure unless demand strengthens or supply tightens.

On the other hand, the Mach-E’s strong owner satisfaction and distinctive positioning can help support demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, reverse sensing, reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control with automated lane centering, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist. A 360-degree camera system is standard on higher trim levels, and Active Drive Assist is standard on the California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition trims, while it is part of a package on Select.

Because it just launched, crash-test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety aren’t available yet for the Mach-E.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 43.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model is the launch year for Ford’s first mass-market EV, so you get the original styling, the broad trim lineup, and the model’s early take on sporty EV character.

The bottom line: If you want the earliest Mach-E and you value the current price softness, the 2021 is a sensible buy. If you are especially price-sensitive, focus on the best-equipped examples with clean history and strong battery/charging behavior, since those are the ones most likely to feel like a long-term win.
