How much does the 2021 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,272 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Ford Bronco earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Drivers consistently praise its bold design, smooth ride, and versatility, and many also like its powerful performance and advanced tech features. The Bronco’s use case is clear: it’s built for shoppers who want a distinctive SUV with serious trail credentials rather than a soft-road crossover. The main trade-offs are a noisy cabin and a stereo that falls short of the rest of the package. With 32.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Review feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as a fun and capable SUV they can count on. The expert evaluation also emphasizes its solid engineering and overall capability, which supports confidence in day-to-day use. If you’re buying used, the biggest long-term risk is choosing a poorly maintained example with roof, noise, or wear-related issues that show up after the sale.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any Bronco you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a close inspection of the roof, cabin noise sources, and overall condition, especially if the vehicle has seen frequent trail use. Pay attention to how the truck was equipped, because some features are tied to packages rather than standard equipment.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim starts with a simpler feature set, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment. The Big Bend and Black Diamond can add the Mid Package, and the Outer Banks, Wildtrak, and Badlands can add the High Package.
• Powertrain: You get a standard turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four with 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, plus an available twin-turbo 2.7-liter inline-four with 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The 2.3-liter pairs with a seven-speed manual, while the 2.7-liter uses a 10-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot 360 includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, auto high-beam headlamps, and rear-view camera with backup assist grid lines. The High Package adds a 360-degree camera, a forward-sensing system, and side-view mirror LED approach lamps.
• Infotainment: The Bronco uses SYNC 4 with enhanced voice recognition, with an 8-inch standard touchscreen and an available 12-inch screen. Wireless device charging is available with the Lux Package.
• Fuel efficiency: Poor fuel economy is a noted drawback.

Which 2021 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Bronco is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, First Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Bronco’s core off-road character at the lowest starting price. It’s the trim to consider if you plan to build up from there with packages.
• Big Bend: This is a smart value choice because it sits early in the lineup and can add the Mid Package. It’s a good fit if you want a more usable daily driver without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Black Diamond: Choose this if you want a more trail-focused setup than the lower trims and still want access to the Mid Package. It suits buyers who expect to use the Bronco off pavement more often.
• Outer Banks: This trim leans more toward comfort and can add the High Package. It’s a better match if you want a more polished Bronco with extra convenience and safety equipment.
• Badlands: This is the trim for buyers who want stronger off-road capability and access to the High Package. It’s the right pick if trail performance matters more than keeping the price down.
• Wildtrak: This is the higher-output, more expensive choice for shoppers who want a more aggressive Bronco setup. It also can add the High Package.
• First Edition: This is the top-end, most exclusive version, so it makes sense if you want the most complete Bronco experience and don’t mind paying for it.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that the Mid Package is available on the Big Bend and Black Diamond, while the High Package is available on the Outer Banks, Wildtrak, and Badlands.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Bronco?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,272 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,870, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $35,870 sits slightly below last year's $39,738.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the Bronco’s current pricing suggests you should focus on buying a clean, well-equipped example that will stay desirable. Strong condition and the right trim will matter more if you want to protect value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot 360 brings pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, auto high-beam headlamps, and rear-view camera with backup assist grid lines. Higher trims can add a 360-degree camera, a forward-sensing system, and side-view mirror LED approach lamps. The Bronco also includes side curtain airbags designed to work with its removable-door setup and off-road rollover sensing.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 launch brings the Bronco’s long-awaited return with standard 4WD and two available powertrains.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,072, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $35,870 average.
• It broadens the lineup and improves everyday drivability.

The bottom line: If you want the lower average price and the appeal of the Bronco’s first model year back, the 2021 is the better starting point. If you’re willing to spend more for a broader lineup and a slightly more refined ownership experience, the 2022 is worth a look.
