How much does the 2023 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,609 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Broncos to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Ford Bronco earns a 4.27/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, comfort, rugged design, and overall driving experience. The Bronco’s broad range of body styles and configurations also helps it fit different needs, from trail-focused shoppers to buyers who want something distinctive for everyday use.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and fuel economy is below average. Even so, the Bronco’s versatility and strong personality make it appealing if you want something that feels equally at home on pavement and off it.

With 36.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s meaningful room to shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.27/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in the ways Bronco shoppers care about most: strong off-road capability, a comfortable driving experience, and a rugged design that owners enjoy living with. The owner summary also emphasizes that many drivers appreciate the features and overall experience, which supports the idea that the Bronco delivers on its core promise over time.

The test-drive notes reinforce that impression by describing the Bronco as capable, composed on the highway, and quieter than a comparable Wrangler. That combination suggests you’re getting a vehicle that can handle daily use without losing its trail-ready character.

If you’re buying used, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that higher running costs and practicality compromises may matter more as mileage adds up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the Bronco has seen serious trail use. Focus on signs of underbody wear, interior durability, and whether the equipment on the specific truck matches how you plan to use it. Because the Bronco’s appeal depends heavily on trim and option content, condition matters as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim is the most bare-bones version, with steel wheels and a simpler look, while higher trims add more distinctive styling and equipment. The lineup also includes the Heritage trim with nostalgic design touches and the Heritage Limited trim, which is described as even more capable.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 2.3-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, an optional 2.7-liter V6 with 330 hp and 415 lb-ft, or the 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 in the Raptor with 418 hp and 440 lb-ft. The four-cylinder is described as more than adequate for most buyers, while the V6 can make sense for the heavier four-door model.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while the High package adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system. The Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Ford’s SYNC 4. Most Broncos come with an eight-inch touchscreen, though a 12-inch display is available and easier to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder is estimated at up to 20 mpg combined and can drop to 17 mpg depending on options. The 2.7-liter V6 is rated at 17-18 mpg, and the Raptor is estimated at 15 mpg.

Which 2023 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford Bronco is offered in 9 trim levels: Base, Heritage, Heritage Limited, Black Diamond, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the most affordable entry point, and it gives you the Bronco’s core off-road hardware and standard safety basics without the extra trim content. It makes sense if you want the Bronco experience at the lowest starting price and plan to add only the options you truly need.
• Heritage: This trim is the style play, with a throwback white grille, roof, wheels, and plaid seat upholstery. It suits you if you want the Bronco’s rugged personality with a more nostalgic look.
• Heritage Limited: This is the more upscale take on the Heritage theme, and it adds a more capable feel while keeping the retro design cues. It’s a good fit if you want something distinctive and better equipped than the standard Heritage trim.
• Black Diamond: This is the best-value trim to consider because it represents a strong middle ground, and the available Sasquatch package adds meaningful off-road upgrades. If you want a Bronco that balances price, capability, and everyday livability, this is the one to focus on.
• Raptor: This is the top-end performance-oriented Bronco, with the most powerful engine, the widest stance, and the most aggressive hardware. It’s the right choice if you want maximum capability and don’t mind paying for it.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that the Mid package is not available on the Base trim, and several driver-assistance features are bundled into optional packages rather than being standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,609 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.38% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,901, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $40,901 sits slightly below last year's $45,133.

That softer pricing suggests the Bronco has cooled from its earlier peak, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, trim desirability, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Because the Bronco still has strong enthusiast appeal and broad shopper interest, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than more ordinary SUVs. Higher-demand trims and cleaner histories should hold up best if you decide to sell later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.27/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2023 Ford Bronco earns four-star ratings in frontal crash protection and three-star ratings for rollover protection from NHTSA, while the IIHS awarded it Good scores in all crashworthiness tests except head restraints and seats, where it received Acceptable.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while the High package adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system. The Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, and the Bronco’s crash-test results are only partial from NHTSA.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.27/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds Heritage-inspired variants and keeps the Bronco’s broad, highly capable lineup.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,102, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $40,901 average.
• It offers strong off-road ability with better everyday drivability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,437, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $40,901 average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment system.

The bottom line: if you want the best mix of price, selection, and the Bronco’s core strengths, the 2023 is the primary path to consider. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the better value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer tech update and don’t mind paying more.
