How much does the 2021 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,200 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Ford Bronco earns a 4.47/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Drivers consistently praise its design, smooth ride, and versatility, and many also highlight its powerful performance and advanced tech features. The Bronco’s appeal is especially strong if you want a distinctive SUV with serious trail credentials and standout styling. The main trade-offs are a soft focus on comfort, plus a noisy cabin and a stereo that falls short. Even so, the Bronco’s off-road mission and broad capability make it a compelling fit if you value adventure over refinement. 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.47/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as fun, high-performing, and versatile, with many saying it feels like a dependable choice compared with competitors. The Bronco’s strong reputation for off-road capability also supports confidence in how it should hold up over time. Ford’s rugged engineering and trail-focused setup reinforce that sense of durability. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that condition can vary a lot depending on how hard the vehicle was used off-road.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a trail-focused SUV can see harder use than a typical family vehicle. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the roof, cabin, suspension, and any signs of off-road wear. Focus on overall condition, not just mileage, since equipment and use history matter a lot on this model.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim starts with a simpler equipment set, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience features. The safety package also expands as you move up the lineup, so base models can leave you wanting more standard driver assistance.
• Powertrain: You get a standard turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four with 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, or an available twin-turbo 2.7-liter inline-four with 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The 2.3-liter pairs with a seven-speed manual, while the 2.7-liter uses a 10-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot 360 is included with the Mid Package and brings pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, auto high-beam headlamps, and rear-view camera with backup assist grid lines. The High Package adds a 360-degree camera, a forward-sensing system, and side-view mirror LED approach lamps.
• Infotainment: The Bronco uses SYNC 4 with enhanced voice recognition, an 8-inch standard touchscreen, and an available 12-inch screen with the High Package. Wireless device charging comes with the Lux Package.
• Fuel efficiency: The Bronco is described as having poor fuel economy, so efficiency should not be a priority if you’re shopping this SUV.

Which 2021 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Bronco is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, First Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point if you want the Bronco’s core off-road hardware at the lowest price. It makes the most sense if you care more about capability than convenience, but you’ll want to budget for packages if you want more safety and tech.
• Big Bend: This is a smart step up if you want a better balance of price and equipment. It’s one of the trims that can add the Mid Package, so it’s a better fit if you want more everyday usability without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Black Diamond: This trim is aimed at buyers who want a more trail-ready setup than the lower trims. It can also add the Mid Package, so it’s a good choice if you want off-road focus plus some useful driver-assistance upgrades.
• Outer Banks: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale feel and more available tech. It can add the High Package, which brings a 360-degree camera and other useful visibility features.
• Badlands: This is the trim to target if you want the Bronco’s capability-first personality with more serious hardware and available safety upgrades. It also qualifies for the High Package, making it a strong choice for buyers who want ruggedness and added confidence.
• Wildtrak: This is the right choice if you want a more performance-oriented Bronco setup with higher-end equipment. It can also add the High Package, so it suits buyers who want a well-equipped trail SUV.
• First Edition: This is the top-end choice for shoppers who want the most exclusive, fully loaded version of the Bronco. It’s the easiest trim to recommend if you want the most complete package and don’t mind paying for it.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that the Mid Package is available on the Big Bend and Black Diamond trims, while the High Package is available on the Outer Banks, Wildtrak, and Badlands trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Bronco?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,200 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,066, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $36,066 sits slightly below last year's $39,927.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays competitive. The Bronco’s strong enthusiast appeal should help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment. Models with cleaner histories and stronger trim content are likely to hold attention better than rougher, more heavily used trucks. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.47/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot 360 is the key driver-assistance suite here, and when equipped through the Mid Package it includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, auto high-beam headlamps, and rear-view camera with backup assist grid lines. The High Package adds a 360-degree camera, a forward-sensing system, and side-view mirror LED approach lamps. Base models start with a more limited safety setup, so you’ll want to pay close attention to package content if safety tech matters to you. The Bronco’s removable doors also mean you should think carefully about how you plan to use it, since that design comes with inherent trade-offs.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.47/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It delivers a long-awaited return with standard four-wheel drive, two available powertrains, and a clear off-road focus.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,191, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $36,066 average.
• It offers a broader lineup and a better on-road experience than the Jeep Wrangler.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2021 is the stronger starting point because prices have eased and inventory is still healthy. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year and want the broader lineup, the 2022 is the secondary path to consider.
