How much does the 2021 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,268 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Bronco inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco a good car?

Yes — with a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating, the 2021 Ford Bronco lands as a strong choice if you want a rugged SUV with real personality. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

User feedback repeatedly points to the Bronco’s design, smooth ride, versatility, powerful performance, and advanced tech features, especially in hardtop models. The expert review also highlights its excellent off-road capability and bold styling, while noting trade-offs like poor fuel economy, a noisy cabin, and a stereo that is lacking. If you want a distinctive SUV that feels purpose-built for trail use rather than just styled that way, this one fits that brief well.

With 35.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as fun, high-performing, and a vehicle they can count on over time.

The expert review reinforces that sense of durability by describing the Bronco as a competent, complex SUV built for serious trail use. It also notes that the Bronco rewards patient off-roaders, which suggests it’s engineered with long-term capability in mind rather than short-term flash.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Bronco’s rugged setup and feature complexity can make condition and maintenance history especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on roof fitment, cabin noise, and signs of hard use, especially if the vehicle has been taken off-road. Pay close attention to overall condition, since trail use can leave wear that is not obvious in photos.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base models get a basic safety setup, while Big Bend and Black Diamond can add the Mid Package with more driver-assistance features. Outer Banks, Wildtrak, and Badlands can add the High Package, which brings additional camera and sensing equipment.
• Powertrain: You get a standard turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four and an available twin-turbo 2.7-liter inline-four. The 2.3-liter can be paired with a manual transmission, while the 2.7-liter comes with a 10-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot 360 can include pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, auto high-beam headlamps, and rear-view camera with backup assist grid lines. Higher trims can add a 360-degree camera, a forward-sensing system, and side-view mirror LED approach lamps.
• Infotainment: The Bronco uses SYNC 4 with enhanced voice recognition, with an 8-inch standard touchscreen and an available 12-inch screen. Wireless device charging is part of the Lux Package.
• Fuel efficiency: The Bronco is described as having poor fuel economy.

Which 2021 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Bronco is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, First Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point if you want the Bronco’s core off-road character at the lowest starting price. It gives you the essentials, but you’ll want to compare it carefully against higher trims if you care about convenience and safety tech.
• Big Bend: This is a smart value pick if you want a more usable daily driver without jumping too far up the price ladder. It can add the Mid Package, which brings useful driver-assistance and convenience features.
• Black Diamond: Choose this if you want a more trail-focused setup than the lower trims, while still keeping the Bronco’s core formula intact. It also can add the Mid Package, so it’s worth considering if you want capability and some added safety tech.
• Outer Banks: This trim makes sense if you want a more polished Bronco with more available equipment. It can add the High Package, which brings a 360-degree camera and other helpful features.
• Badlands: This is the better fit if you want a more serious off-road setup and are willing to pay for it. It can also add the High Package, so it’s a strong choice for buyers who want capability plus added visibility tech.
• Wildtrak: Pick this if you want a more aggressive, higher-spec Bronco with the High Package available. It sits near the top of the lineup and suits buyers who want a more fully equipped version.
• First Edition: This is the top-end choice for shoppers who want the most exclusive Bronco in the lineup. It’s the most expensive trim and best suited to buyers who want the full-featured version without compromise.

The safety-package trims are spread across the lineup, so if driver-assistance features matter to you, focus on trims that can add the Mid Package or High Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Bronco?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,268 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,769, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $35,769 sits slightly below last year's $39,597.

That decline suggests the Bronco has become more accessible to used buyers, which can help keep demand healthy if you decide to sell later. A softer purchase price today can also make your ownership math easier, especially if you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition. For future resale, the key will be how well the Bronco’s reputation for capability and desirability holds up against mileage, condition, and equipment level.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot 360 can include pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, auto high-beam headlamps, and rear-view camera with backup assist grid lines. Higher trims can add a 360-degree camera, a forward-sensing system, and side-view mirror LED approach lamps.

The Bronco also includes side curtain airbags that are designed to work with its removable-door setup and off-road use. One caveat is that crash-test ratings have not been released yet, so you should weigh the available safety equipment carefully when comparing trims.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 launch brings the Bronco back with standard four-wheel drive, two available powertrains, and a clear off-road focus.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $36,936, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $35,769 average.
• It broadens the lineup and improves everyday drivability.

The bottom line: If you want the lower average price and the original return of the Bronco nameplate, the 2021 is the better starting point. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year with broader appeal, the 2022 is the secondary path to consider.
