How much does the 2021 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.34% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,194 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Ford Bronco earns a 4.47/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its design, smooth ride, versatility, powerful performance, and advanced tech features. The Bronco’s purpose-built off-road identity and clever engineering also come through clearly in the overview, which makes it a strong fit if you want capability first and everyday usability second. The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy, noise, and a stereo that falls short.

With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.47/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle people feel good about living with over time, with repeated praise for versatility and a fun, high-performing character that many buyers see as a strong value. The expert drive notes also emphasize that the Bronco feels competent, complex, and well matched to its mission, which supports the idea that it’s built to handle regular use as well as rough terrain. Ford also notes that the Bronco’s off-road electronics are easy to operate and understand, which adds to confidence in day-to-day ownership.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is that rugged hardware and adventure-focused use can mean more wear, so condition matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because off-road use can leave behind wear that isn’t obvious in photos. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the roof, doors, tires, suspension, and any signs of trail damage or water intrusion. It also helps to focus on how the truck was equipped, since some convenience and safety features move up the trim ladder.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim starts with a simpler equipment set, while higher trims add more convenience and safety content. The Big Bend and Black Diamond can add the Mid Package, and the Outer Banks, Wildtrak, and Badlands can add the High Package.
• Powertrain: You get a standard turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four with 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, or an optional twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four with 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The 2.3-liter comes with a seven-speed manual, while the 2.7-liter uses a 10-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot 360 is part of the Mid Package and includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, auto high-beam headlamps, and rear-view camera with backup assist grid lines. The High Package adds a 360-degree camera, a forward-sensing system, and side-view mirror LED approach lamps.
• Infotainment: The Bronco uses SYNC 4 with enhanced voice recognition, an 8-inch standard touchscreen, and an available 12-inch screen. Wireless device charging and voice-activated navigation come with the Lux Package.
• Fuel efficiency: The Bronco is described as having poor fuel economy.

Which 2021 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Bronco is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, and First Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point if you want the Bronco’s core off-road hardware and are willing to keep the equipment list simple. It makes the most sense if you care more about capability than convenience features.
• Big Bend: This is a smart step up if you want a better everyday balance, since it sits among the trims that can add the Mid Package and still keeps the Bronco’s rugged character.
• Black Diamond: Choose this if you want a more trail-ready setup without jumping all the way to the pricier trims. It can also add the Mid Package, which brings meaningful safety and convenience upgrades.
• Outer Banks: This is the better pick if you want a more polished feel and are interested in the High Package, which adds a 360-degree camera and other useful features.
• Badlands: This is the trim to target if off-road capability is your top priority and you want access to the High Package as well.
• Wildtrak: This is the choice if you want a more loaded Bronco with the High Package available and a stronger emphasis on higher-end equipment.
• First Edition: This is the most exclusive version and suits you if you want the most complete, top-of-the-line Bronco experience.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that the Mid Package is available on the Big Bend and Black Diamond, while the High Package is available on the Outer Banks, Wildtrak, and Badlands.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Bronco?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,194 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.34% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,501, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $36,501 sits slightly below last year's $40,260.

That price movement suggests the Bronco has already given back some of its earlier premium, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the truck has been equipped and maintained. Models with desirable features and clean histories should hold up better than rougher examples, especially because this vehicle attracts shoppers who care about capability and image as much as price.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.47/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot 360 is the named driver-assistance suite, and when you move up to the Mid Package it includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, auto high-beam headlamps, and rear-view camera with backup assist grid lines. The High Package adds a 360-degree camera, a forward-sensing system, and side-view mirror LED approach lamps.

One important caveat is that the Bronco’s removable doors and off-road focus create a safety trade-off, even though Ford says the side curtain airbags are designed to work with rollover sensing in off-road situations. Crash-test ratings had not been released at the time of this model-year review.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.47/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It delivers a purpose-built off-road focus with standard four-wheel drive and clever engineering.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,526, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $36,501 average.
• It broadens appeal with a deeper roster of models and stronger everyday drivability.

The 2021 is the better buy if you want to save money and still get the Bronco’s core personality. If you’re willing to spend more for a broader lineup and a slightly more refined all-around package, the 2022 is the alternative to watch.
