Used 2017 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale near Illinois

How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Prices have softened 7.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,009 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its reliability, performance, and value, and they also highlight its smooth ride, safety features, and versatility as a work truck. For you, that means it fits well if you want a midsize pickup that can handle everyday use without feeling oversized. The market also shows 30.4% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to reliability, dependability, and trouble-free ownership as recurring strengths, with many drivers saying they can count on it for both work and daily use. That said, you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and transmission behavior on used examples, since long-term ownership risk depends heavily on how the truck was cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Colorado?

At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, drivetrain behavior, and signs of uneven wear. Because some owners have raised concerns about the diesel option’s maintenance costs, it also makes sense to review service records closely if you’re considering one.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Colorado?

This is a moderate market, so you can buy now if the right truck shows up, but it still pays to be selective.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,009 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.10% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,161, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $18,161 sits slightly below last year's $19,549.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can matter if you plan to sell later. A softer used-price environment can limit upside in the near term, especially if supply stays healthy. On the other hand, the Colorado’s strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when you eventually list it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,186, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $18,161 average.
• It offers a handsome look with real versatility.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and availability. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2016 is worth a look because it comes in cheaper while still delivering the Colorado’s core midsize-truck appeal.
