At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the truck has had prior damage or multiple owners. Put inspection priority on mechanical condition, since this generation has a history of transmission concerns. Focus closely on how the truck drives, shifts, and feels under load so you can spot signs of wear that may not show up in photos.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $20,476 sits slightly below last year's $21,919.

That price movement suggests the Colorado has softened enough to give you a better entry point today, but it also means future resale gains may be more gradual. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than a shopper who paid closer to last year’s average. Strong condition and clean history will matter a lot if you want to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $21,339, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $20,476 average.
• It leans into available diesel and off-road capability with a simpler, more focused identity.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if you want the better value and a broader pool of listings. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model-year alternative with a slightly different emphasis, the 2019 is the secondary path to compare.
