At 62.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the transmission, drivability, and signs of uneven wear or poor repair work. It also helps to prioritize overall condition, since accident history and maintenance quality can matter more than mileage alone.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

That softer pricing suggests the truck has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market. Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,030, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $18,240 average.
• It offers a more distinctive value-oriented midsize-truck appeal.

The bottom line:
You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
