Used 2017 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale near Iowa

How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Prices have softened 5.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,999 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — the 4.73/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, performance, and value, and many also like its smooth ride, safety features, and versatility as a work truck. That fits a truck that’s meant to serve as both an everyday vehicle and a capable hauler, especially if you want a midsize pickup with useful configurations and real towing ability. With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability as a strength, along with a reputation for being dependable and useful over time. That said, the model’s long-term ownership picture is best approached with care because some used examples may carry transmission-related concerns and other age-related wear. For you, that means a careful pre-purchase inspection matters if you want to reduce the risk of expensive surprises later.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Colorado?

At 63.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you commit. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the truck’s mechanical condition, especially how it shifts, drives, and responds under load. Focus on overall condition and maintenance evidence, since those details matter most when you’re comparing used examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,999 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,336, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $18,612 sits slightly below last year's $19,714.

That price movement suggests the truck has softened enough to give you a better entry point today, but it also means future resale gains may be more gradual if the market stays soft. If you buy well and keep the truck in strong condition, you can help protect value when it’s time to sell. Demand should remain supported by the model’s broad appeal, especially among shoppers who want a midsize pickup with real utility.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $16,958, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $18,612 average.
• It offers a smaller, city-friendly footprint with useful everyday versatility.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping position, the 2017 is the better primary target because it combines solid owner satisfaction with a softer price trend and decent deal availability. If your top priority is spending less up front, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if its lower average price matters more than the newer-year market position.
