Is the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2020 Colorado stands out as a midsize pickup that balances capability, comfort, and everyday usefulness, with good value for the money and especially strong appeal in the mid-range and high trims. It also offers more space than many rivals, which helps if you want a truck that can handle work duties without feeling oversized for daily use.

With 29.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 Colorado’s reliability story is mixed: Chevrolet’s truck has useful capability and a solid companion-like character, but its record was hurt by early transmission woes, and some models from this generation were affected by recurring eight-speed automatic issues. That means you should treat maintenance history and transmission behavior as especially important on a used example.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a truck that has unresolved transmission-related problems or inconsistent service history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chevrolet Colorado?

At 68.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any truck you’re seriously considering and confirm whether it has accident, title, or repair records. Put the transmission high on your inspection checklist, especially if the truck has higher mileage or any signs of rough shifting, hesitation, or delayed engagement. Focus on overall condition too, since a well-kept Colorado is more likely to deliver the capability and everyday usefulness this model year is known for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,438 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,420, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $22,778 sits slightly below last year's $23,973.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the truck has been maintained. A clean history and strong service records should matter more if you want to protect value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $21,886, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $22,778 average.
• It emphasizes simple, practical capability with available diesel and ZR2 appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-year market context and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition, the 2020 is the better primary pick. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2019 is the more price-sensitive alternative and still delivers the Colorado’s core practical strengths.
