Used 2016 Dodge Charger for Sale nearSilver Spring, MD

How much does the 2016 Dodge Charger cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 915 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Dodge Charger a good car?

Yes — 4.8/5 is a strong user rating for the 2016 Dodge Charger, and the expert rating is 8.17/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

You get a mix of powerful acceleration, stylish design, and a comfortable interior, plus a sense that the car delivers strong value for the features it includes. That lines up with the Charger’s practical side in the overview: it is a distinctive sedan that still aims to work well as an everyday family car. With 26.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market also gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Dodge Charger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a car that many drivers feel good about living with over time, and the expert notes reinforce that it offers more substance than its image suggests. The ownership story is helped by the Charger’s everyday usability and its reputation for being a satisfying sedan rather than just a style piece. The expert notes also describe it as a car with broad appeal and strong substance beneath the surface.

Long-term ownership risk is worth weighing carefully, though, because used examples can vary a lot in condition and maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Dodge Charger?

At 49.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or optioned heavily. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the equipment on the car matches the seller’s description. If you are shopping a used Charger, condition matters as much as trim because the feature spread can be wide.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT test car is one rung above the base model, and the base setup can feel sparse compared with the better-equipped versions. The cabin is described as plain in layout, but higher-spec cars add more upscale touches and equipment that make the car feel more complete.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 3.6-liter V6, an 8-speed automatic, and rear-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available. The V6 is described as strong and efficient for the car’s size, and it returned 22.9 mpg in combined driving.
• Safety package: Available driver-assistance tech includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist. Some of these features are optional rather than standard, so check the exact equipment on the car you are considering.
• Infotainment: The Charger uses an 8.4-inch touchscreen with the Uconnect system, and it offers a deep set of programmable settings. Wireless smartphone integration and over-the-air capability are not mentioned in the data.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 returned 22.9 mpg in combined driving, essentially matching the official 23 mpg combined estimate.

Which 2016 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2016 Dodge Charger is offered in 2 trim levels: SE and SXT.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Charger’s core personality at the lowest entry point. The data suggests it can be equipped with the Blacktop Package and still stay under $30,000 on the sticker, making it the trim to watch if you want the best price-to-style ratio.
• SXT: This is the better all-around pick if you want a more complete everyday setup. The test car was an SXT, and it shows how the Charger can feel more polished with the right options, including the Plus Package, Rallye Group, navigation, a reversing camera, and the Super Track Pak.

The safety content notes that the Charger can be upgraded with driver-assistance and collision-avoidance technologies, so check whether those features are included on the trim you are considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Dodge Charger?

This looks like a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 915 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 49.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,965, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Dodge Charger's resale value?

The current average of $15,440 sits slightly below last year's $15,581.

That small decline suggests the Charger has been holding value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply. For a future seller, that kind of pricing pattern can be helpful because it points to a market that is still familiar with the car and willing to pay for the right example. Well-kept cars with desirable equipment should remain easier to move than rougher or poorly documented ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Dodge Charger safe?

The Charger gets a Marginal rating in the small overlap frontal impact crash test from the IIHS, but it earns top ratings from both the federal government and the IIHS in other crash-test assessments.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The available driver-assistance suite includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist. The data also notes that some of these features are optional, so safety equipment can vary by trim and package. The small-overlap result is the main caveat to keep in mind when you are comparing used examples.

Should I buy a 2016 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 49.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It blends strong value, everyday usability, and a more polished personality than its image suggests.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,068, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $15,440 average.
• It leans harder into a bold, muscular look with a more aggressive redesign.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $18,274, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $15,440 average.
• It delivers a more attention-grabbing, enthusiast-focused muscle-car feel.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and everyday usefulness, the 2016 is the smart default. If your priority is saving money, the 2015 is the better value play. If you want a pricier, more emotional version of the Charger experience, the 2017 is the one to cross-shop.
