You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. That price movement suggests the Durango has softened, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2015 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,517, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,518 average.
• It emphasizes rugged durability with a roomy, refined cabin.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,512, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,518 average.
• It adds sportier driving character and more standard equipment.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2015 if you want the best balance of price, owner satisfaction, and available deals. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 is the better value play; if you want newer updates and can spend more, the 2016 is the upgrade path.
