Used 2015 Dodge Charger for Sale near Illinois

How much does the 2015 Dodge Charger cost?

Prices have softened 2.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 794 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Dodge Charger a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Dodge Charger earns a 4.2/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior and strong performance, especially the V6’s power and smooth driving feel. The Charger’s aggressive styling also comes through as a recurring strength, and the car’s everyday usability helps it work as both a commuter and a more dramatic full-size sedan. For you, that means the Charger fits best if you want a practical large sedan with a stronger personality than most rivals.

Only 21.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective even if the model is appealing.

Is the 2015 Dodge Charger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.2/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with owners repeatedly highlighting the Charger’s strong performance and smooth driving experience. The expert evaluation also describes the V6 as manageable and sane for commuting, which supports the idea that the car can be easy to live with over time. The cost-effectiveness assessment also notes that the Charger won an ALG residual value award for full-size sedans, which reinforces its long-term appeal.

The main ownership risk for used buyers is that condition and maintenance history matter more than the badge, especially if you’re shopping a higher-mileage example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Dodge Charger?

At 47.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on panel alignment, paint consistency, tire wear, and any signs that the car has been modified or driven hard. If you want the safest buy, look for a clean, well-documented example with the equipment you actually want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE uses 17-inch wheels, while the SXT gets 18-inch wheels and more features; higher trims move to 20-inch wheels, and the SRT 392 adds bigger brakes, suspension tuning, and SRT-only interior packages.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 292 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, uses an 8-speed automatic, and is the only engine available with AWD this year.
• Safety package: The Charger includes front and side curtain airbags, a driver knee airbag, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, seatbelt pretensioners, height-adjusting seatbelts, and rear child-seat anchors; lane-departure warning, frontal-collision warning, and backup cameras are optional.
• Infotainment: UConnect is standard, with an optional 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch multifunction driver display.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 returns 19 mpg city and 31 mpg highway with RWD, or 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway with AWD.

Which 2015 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2015 Dodge Charger is offered in 8 trim levels: SE, SXT, R/T, R/T Road & Track, R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392, Hellcat, and Rallye AWD.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it keeps the Charger’s core look and V6 power while using 17-inch wheels. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup, but it is the least equipped version.
• SXT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more features than the SE while staying with the V6 and offering optional AWD. If you want the most balanced mix of comfort, usability, and price, this is the one to target.
• R/T: This is the first V8 step, and it brings the 5.7-liter Hemi for buyers who want more muscle without jumping to the extreme performance trims.
• R/T Road & Track: This trim keeps the V8 formula but is positioned as a value muscle choice for shoppers who want more performance-focused character.
• R/T Scat Pack: This is the serious performance pick, with the 6.4-liter V8 and much quicker acceleration. Choose it if you want the Charger’s muscle-car side to be the priority.
• SRT 392: This trim adds bigger brakes, suspension tuning, and SRT-only interior packages, so it suits buyers who want a more focused performance setup.
• Hellcat: This is the top-end, supercharged 6.2-liter V8 model for buyers who want the most extreme performance in the lineup.
• Rallye AWD: This is the AWD-oriented choice if you want all-weather traction with the V6.

The safety package is spread across multiple option groups, so check carefully for lane-departure warning, frontal-collision warning, and backup camera equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Dodge Charger?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 21.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 794 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 47.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,421, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Dodge Charger's resale value?

The current average of $12,754 sits slightly below last year's $13,128.

That softer pricing suggests the Charger is in a buyer-friendly phase right now, which can help you if you’re shopping but may pressure future resale if you buy too high. The year-round range also shows that values have already settled into a fairly tight band, so condition and trim will matter a lot when you eventually sell. If you buy a clean example at the right price, you’re better positioned to preserve value than if you overpay for a rougher car.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Dodge Charger safe?

The Charger is rated Good by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Charger includes front and side curtain airbags, a driver knee airbag, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, seatbelt pretensioners, height-adjusting seatbelts, and rear child-seat anchors as standard equipment. Lane-departure warning, frontal-collision warning, and backup cameras are available, but they are spread across multiple option packages, so you need to check the exact build carefully. The main caveat is that the active-safety content is not bundled simply, which can make a well-equipped car harder to find.

Should I buy a 2015 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 21.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 47.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It blends aggressive styling with strong performance and a practical, easy-to-live-with cabin.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,301, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,754 average.
• It offers a more sophisticated take on the Charger’s retro-muscle formula.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $15,855, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,754 average.
• It emphasizes the Charger’s broader appeal as a satisfying family sedan.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, performance, and market availability, the 2015 is the primary target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2014 is the cheaper path, while the 2016 makes sense only if you want to spend more for the newer-year alternative.

How does the 2015 Dodge Charger compare to the 2015 Chevrolet Impala?

Our experts score the 2015 Dodge Charger 7.8/10 and the 2015 Chevrolet Impala 7/10.

The Charger is the stronger pick if you want more performance and a more aggressive personality, while the Impala leans more toward efficiency and a lower average used price. The Charger also has more listings available, which can give you more room to shop for the right trim and condition. The Impala’s higher good-and-great deal share and better accident-free share may appeal if you want a more value-focused search.
