What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Avalon?

At 53.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any car that looks especially clean or unusually cheap. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s maintenance history supports the mileage and asking price. If a listing has salvage or accident history, make sure the condition and price justify the added risk.

The current average of $15,113 sits slightly above last year's $14,986.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed resilient, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing usually means buyers continue to see value in the model, especially when the car is well kept and priced realistically. A clean history and strong condition should help you hold onto more of that value over time.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Avalon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,061, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $15,113 average.
• It adds a refreshed grille and updated lighting for a more current look.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2015 is the smarter starting point because it combines steady pricing with strong owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget and want a fresher appearance, the 2016 is the better secondary path.
