have a 2005 Saturn Vue that the transmission is slipping looking for a cheaper alternative then exchanging the entire transmission

Once they start slipping, that's the death knell. You can try servicing it, and add 1 can of TransX then fill to specs, but if it does work it is only temporary, the damage is done and you will have to have it fixed if you want to continue driving it.
