Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Lexus Es 350. My engine light along
with check vsc and traction control lights are on. I
put the car on a scanner and came back with code
P0138. (Bank1, sensor 2 oxygen sensor needed to
be changed) So I had the sensor changed and the
engine light, vac and traction control light went
off.. for 2 weeks. Now they're back on. I put the car
back on the scanner and I'm getting the same code
reading as before, bank 1sensor 2. Even though I
had that sensor replaced just 3 weeks ago. Do i
need to replace the left side upstream sensor now?
(The one i had replaced was leftside downstream)
What could be the problem?

Just because scanner says oxygen sensor does not mean it is bad most likely since you replaced it and it still is on catalytic converter maybe bad had same problem replaced oxygen sensor and it came back on you may want to try this before replacing converter if you use the 87 octane gas all the time use the 92 or 93 octane to clean converter took about 5 fill ups of the 92 octane before my light went out.

Ok thanks. I've been using 89 gas a lot lately. I'll switch to 92 and see if that helps.
