95 mustang wont charge

Asked by Apr 09, 2016 at 03:01 PM about the 1995 Ford Mustang STD Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 95 mustang v6. I hit a curb last week. I
have replaced the tie rod and put a new altenator
on it. When i hit the curb about 15 minutes later i
lost electrical power. It still wont charge. Only
getting 13.8 volts for a minute or two then it starts
draining the battery till its to low voltage to run the
car. Please help me car gurus.

Sounds like a bad alternator. See pic

I just put a new one on it. Could it be bad too

New or reman? If a reman it could be bad, does the store you bought it from have a tester? The only other thing could be bad wiring, it will hold a load shortly then breaks down, possibly even a fuselink.
