1995 Ford explorer four wheel drive won't disengage.

If it is the electronic system it is most likely the transfer case shift motor, try this: turn key on, slide underneath and lightly tap on the motor as someone pushes the 4X4 button, you should hear it run and click into 4 WD. If it does it that way then you need a new shift motor( common problem ) if it don't work then you will have to check all of the circuits to and from the GEM. Good luck.
