2006 VW Jetta GLI 2.0t

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Drove my car to work hr and 15 mins stopped for
fuel. Drove 15 more minutes to work was going 15
mph and it shut down (engine wise) radio and lights
were still on. Tried starting it and it wouldn’t fire.
Started it for 1 second using starting fluid figured it
was the fuel pump.  Changed it and it will not start
still and seems to turn over faster now.  Tried
starting fluid again and it won’t attempt to fire. Any
ideas?

sounds like a bad alternator , that's what cars do these days when that happens , if you can get it started check for at least 14 volts at the batt, or get the alt out and have it tested . I've found a OE supplier because I don't like the cheap crap that sometimes lasts one year from the autozoos

I had an import that did the same exact thing!! my thinking is your fuel relay/ fuse. I had a older Mercedes and when my fuel relay decided it was too old to work, it would stall. the car would run just fine for a few minutes ( going to work). So, yes, research that part, find out where it is, and do what you can do avoid the high price of a new one. I usually buy my fuses out of junk yards. They have yet to fail me. good luck
