2002 Pontiac Sunfire GT won't idle

My 2002 Pontiac Sunfire GT won't idle unless I keep my foot in it. Dies when slowing or stopping if rpm drop below 1000. Starts fine, idles in park, runs fine as long as 1000+ rpm. Just started doing this today, been fine before.

Does it have a single coil pack? If so, it could be a failing pick-up or pole piece. Happened to me twice over the years on my '91 Trans Am (single coil to run all cylinders)
