I have a 1996 Ford Explorer and the other day the engine wouldn't turn over but the electric all turns on. Then when I tried to lock the doors with my remote it sound like they were tring to lock 20 times at once. HELP!!
Sounds like a dead battery get it jump started take it to auto zone and have it tested u probably left something on that drained it or the battery just went bad, most car battery's have a life span of 3 to 5 years
We actually totally charged the battery thinking that's what it was but no such luck.
When you turn the key to the start position, is the engine completely dead? No nothing? If so, I had a similar problem with daughter's car. Try using the button on the arm rest to lock and unlock the door a few cycles, ending up in the lock position. Then try to start. Worked for me. If that doesn't work, disconnect the battery for about ten minutes, reconnect and try again.
