Car won't start

Asked by Jun 09, 2016 at 01:40 PM about the 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue 4 Dr GL Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue wont start or crank. It
started doing this when the security freaked out
and we replaced the ignition module and ignition
cylinder and that fixed the security problem, but it
still wouldn't start or crank. We replaced the
starter, still nothing, even put a new battery in and
nothing. We've ran diagnostic on it and its not
throwing codes so what the hell is going on???
Please help!

Have you replace the starter relay? The ECM may need to be reflashed... did you replace the passlock sensor?

Yes, not what the ECM is? And yes.

the ECM is the main computer and may not be getting the correct single to start the car...

Ok We've tried clearing it using the diagnostic

Did it clear?

We are thinking maybe the neutral safety switch? but not sure

it could, try this disconnect the negative cable, wait 15-30 mins, reconnect and try to start, or try this to reset the ECM, with the ignition in on postion pull the PCM fuses (there might be two) wait three mins re-install and try to start the car.

Ok thank you

The security system runs through the BCM on this vehicle. If the BCM cannot accept the "correct" signal from the ignition, the system will not work. You may have a failed BCM. That may also be why it's not throwing codes. There are a few bypass systems on the market, i suggest this one. Pretty quality system, far better than replacing the same failed parts with more failed parts.
