Why does my truck idle so high on a cold crank ?

Asked by Dec 14, 2013 at 11:34 AM about the 1997 Nissan Pickup 2 Dr XE Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 Nissan Pick up XE. Just replaced the EGR valve and EGR solenoid. She still idles high 1800 to 1900 rpm's. When driving around town it feels like there is something clogging my gas line up. You have to give more than the normal amount of gas when pulling away from a stop sign or red light. I was gonna replace the fuel filter and or fuel pump. Do you think this is the right move ?

This is skoal4me. Part of the problem was a bad fuel filter.
