i have a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse starter still spinning on fly wheel not engaging can somebody help me i've been working on my car two weeks now and i dont get it when i bought the car is was starting

Sounds like either the starter is bad or the flywheel has missing teeth. HTH. -Jim
