vehicle won't move

Asked by george Oct 04, 2019 at 12:38 PM about the 1997 Ford Expedition 4 Dr Eddie Bauer 4WD SUV

i am able to start the vehicle and switch through reverse neutral drive etc but
the vehicle will not move! it acts like it is stuck in neutral. nut then makes a
grinding noise putting it into park! what could my problem be?

make sure you don't have it between 4x4 and 2 wheel drive. Could be a bad switch for the 4 wheel drive.Try it in 4 wheel drive High and see what happens. If it moves stop the vehicle keep your foot on the brake and put it back in 2 wheel drive and see what happens.
