Wont move while in gear
2003 Ford expedition will crank and go into gear
but it won't move engine just keeps rev. Up and I
got a new fuel pump on and fuel filter but it won't
move ....help ?
Is it a 4WD? if so try putting it in 4X4 and see if it moves then, if it does then you have a transfer case problem, if not then there is an problem in the transmission.
Of course there is a possibility of a trashed out rear differential but you would have heard all kinds of noise from there before hand.
It's not a 4wd and what's a trashed out rear differential
If the ring and pinion have broken off all the teeth, that will trash out the rear differential, if you want you could look under the rig with it running and in drive and see if the driveline is turning, but make sure someone is in the rig to step on the brakes if it all of the sudden starts to move, you don't want to be another statistic.
OK but I talked to a service man at the ford dealership and told him not it and he said more than likely that would be the transmission
That was my first response, but someone always jumps in with "what about the rear end" so I added that in on the next.
