My 2004 Outlander at times doesn't start when you turn the key,everything lights up in the dashboard but no sound from the engine,after several attempts it would then start, yet other times it starts

My 2004  Outlander which is automatic at times doesn't start when you turn the key,everything lights up in the dashboard but no sound from the engine,after several attempts it would then start, yet other times it starts effortlessly yet if you immediately it might take several attempts for it to start,so unpredictable.My fear is that one it is not going to staar
