how do i find out what gears i have in my 2004 mercury mountaineer AWD

my front diff blow so now I have to fix it but don't know what gears I have and I know I have to have the same gears in my front and rear diff

You can write your vin number down and call a dealer, they would ask you something like a number or letter, then they can tell you what ratio is in there. Just have the vin number when you talk to them.
