Fuel Level Error?

Asked by Dec 31, 2014 at 03:32 PM about the 2005 Mercury Sable GS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Mercury Sable GS 3.0L Flex Fuel. I had a code p0462 - Fuel Level Sensor
Low Input, and the instrument cluster would read Low Fuel Level no matter how much fuel
I had in the vehicle. I replaced the fuel pump module assembly, and now I have a Fuel
Level Error message on the instrument cluster, and the code came back. I tried another
module assembly with no change. How do I fix this?

In the old days a gas gauge that always read empty was caused by a bad ground. I suspect that's what is going on here. Check your ground connections. HTH. -Jim
