Question type: Maintenance & Repair

after jumping battery car runs for a bit then when slowing down or idling gets
rough idle and dies with check engine sign along with sometimes other
warning signs . Did have to rest back lift gate as originally wouldnt open and
yet would get beeping when driving at any speed so rear gate warning . That

I had the same issue. After my battery died (not sure if lights were left on??), but had a dead battery. I charged it up overnight. When I moved the car forward, I got a consistent beeping...sounded like from the rear of the car? I disconnected the battery cable (i chose the "black" neutral cable) and let it sit for 10 min. When I finished my ice cream cone, I reconnected the battery cable. Started up, moved forward, and NO Beeping! Oh, and a driver's window issue was resolved as well! The 'ole Ctl-Alt-Del trick has so many uses!

Yes, if my battery keeps discharging, then time to turn to check the alternator to see if it is working (able to charge the battery when driving). Alternators are easy to replace and fairly inexpensive.
