2000Lincoln Ls gets to 40 mph it starts jerking and feels like my transmission is about to ripp from the driveshaft. Then it does it going 20 & in park it just slowly dies

Sounds to me like the torque convertor is locking up at low speed. Have the trans lock up solenoid checked, it might be faulty, or it's time for a trans rebuild.
