Can the vacume lines to the Auto Hubs 4x4 cause the yellow check engine light to come on?

Asked by Feb 14, 2017 at 04:01 AM about the 1999 Ford Ranger XLT Extended Cab 4WD SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My auto hubs on my 1999 Ford Ranger 4.0 XLT went down on a hunting trip on an icy hard pack road and left me stranded at night.  I did research and found out that they were not good auto hubs, only lasted 2.5 years on the line, and were replaced in mid 2000.  Since I only use the truck for hunting and fishing I went with rugged ridge manual hubs.  Way cheaper and made sense for what life the vehicle probably has left.  After the switch the yellow/amber check engine light came on solid.  it was not on prior to the swap out.

I wouldn't think so, have the codes pulled and see what they say and repost them back here, someone will help you with further diagnosis
