i have a 2004 jeep wrangler. I have noticed that my car shakes when it gets to 65 miles per hr and also it shakes and acts like its going to cut off. what can this be?
Is the steering wheel shaking or the whole vehical?
Typically with soid-axle vehicles, a grocery-cart wheel shake, occurring as a specific speed, is due to unbalanced tires. Mine was at 52 mph but settled out above or below that speed. Have your tire balance and alignment checked. If that doesn't fix the problem, have a mechanic look at it. At that point a whole series of things could be wrong.
First and cheapest remedy is to check wheel balance! Then bushing wear on trac bar, tie rod ends, ball joints, drag link ! As for it cutting off could be crankshaft sensor , wheel sensor ABS IF APPLICABLE! First check suspension for unusual wear!
Also check dampers because I was told a bad damper would make this problem
