I have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler sport which needs a new engine, can i put a 2004 wrangler engine in it, or what can u put in it? or should i just get it reconditioned?

Asked by Nov 17, 2016 at 11:15 PM about the 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The con rod bearings r stuffed due to lack of oil, i have been advised to get it
reconditioned but i wanna know if i can just buy a reconditioned engine (which
may be cheaper) and just install it... can i only put a 2011 jeep wrangler engine
in my car or are their other types i can put in... what is the difference with it all?

Thanks, Holly

I would recommend a crate engine of the correct year for your car. Start by checking with your local Jeep dealer but if you Google "crate engine" for your Jeep you will find a lot of different suppliers. I can't recommend any of them but you can check their warranties and reviews.
