Asked by May 22, 2017 at 10:49 AM about the 1999 Ford Expedition 4 Dr Eddie Bauer 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got a 99 Expedition the battery went dead wouldn't start got a jump the
guy crossed the cables arked really bad. Car started but noticed the cluster
was dead no speedo no nuthin. Ran about 5 miles and died again. got
towed home had battery checked was bad so replaced started fine. But no
cluster. Removed attenuator took to Advanced had it tested. Tested OK ,
but while running battery runs down. I had the new battery checked they
said it needed charging so I took it home charged it up, started fine but no
cluster. Drove it to town to Kroger battery dead again. took a good battery
off another vehicle it runs it down in less than two hours and noticed
several other things not working besides the instrument cluster. Put a code
reader on it shows P5? Any help would be appreciated I'm fairly handy I
can replace parts if I knew which direction or knew what to test I got a
Fluke and know how to use it. Thanks in advance!
