Yes, those parts are all interchangeable as far as I know.

i was told there is diferent phases of volvo,s and years you have to get numbers of eng trans so forth ? i dont know

There are two generations of the S40, 2000-2004 and 2004.5-2012. Pretty much anything you need is interchangeable among first generation or "phase I" S40s/V40s.
