I attemted to change the fuel filter on my '01 Volvo s40. There is a plastic quick-release on the feed side on the, that comes off easily, but the other end has afunky metal 90 degree fitting...is that supposed to be a sleeve type fitting?...
Is the metal 90 degree fitting on the fuel filter a quick release type? I'm preety sure it's rusted shut.
are there flats that you can turn with a wrench? you might need one to hold the assembly and the other to turn it~ does it spin ad nauseum? if so this one IS a QD fitting~ normally is like a sleeve tool that you've got to fit over the pipe and scoot the pointy end into the fitting...double check to see if it just goes round and round with the other end disconnected~
Volvo would use stainless steel for something like this...hardly think it's rusted...perhaps corroded from environmental concerns, but not rusted~
