2017 Highlander XLE with almost new battery doesn't start dash goes crazy

Asked by GuruDY38G9 Apr 13, 2024 at 06:02 PM about the 2017 Toyota Highlander XLE AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2017 Highlander XLE with factory stop/start, 50K mileage, and almost new
battery doesn't start, but the dash goes crazy, ventilation and radio works.
After a quick jump everything is normal. Took it into the Toyota dealership to
get checked out and they said everything checks out fine. Since then I have
had the same problem twice over the past several weeks? What could be
wrong?

You have a voltage problem, now it could be a ground, a main feed, power or relay panel, you need a good wiring and component locator manual or find an independent shop that has access to those manuals, as it is an intermittent problem it will take some time to locate but keep at it. I’ve had a few vehicles that I have needed to split open entire wiring harnesses to find a problem.
