I have a 98 I30 Infinity, filled it up with high test gas and when I got down to 1/4 tank, car started missing. What should I try?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Not quite sure what to do at this point. I was wondering if water might have
gotten in the gas and if not, what should I do?

1/4 tank is the bare minimum to keep the fuel pump cool, I would add only 5 gallons of fuel with some gas dryer in it let it sit for a few hours then road test it, if it goes away then it was water, if it doesn't then you could have a fuel pump starting to fail. Then you will have to check the fuel pressure and flow.
