First gear serious/dangerous throttle lag

Asked by Harry933 Jun 14, 2020 at 04:59 PM about the 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When in first gear, most of the time (not always)
when I go to take off from a stop the car does
nothing for the first 5 seconds. Even if my foot is
all the way to the floor, it just keeps crawling as if
I'm not accelerating at all (car is automatic)

This is getting dangerous now and I have no idea
the problem. I took it to the mechanic, he ran a
diagnostic machine on it, showing no faults.

Sometimes the car is fine, it seems completely
random when this happens.

Please help

Hi Jay, thanks for the help, I'm not sure if this is relative but the engine doesn't have any movement and this only happens in first gear.
