Does it go into Reverse. Or any other selection. Check and make sure the linkage (cable) is not stretched or damaged. Being that old sometimes the cable rot out and does not move the manual selector at the side of the transmission. You can test this by having key on engine off and break on ( if on the ground) and move the shift lever back and forth and have someone observe if the shift lever is moving on the side of the transmission. Also do you have any P0700 codes. And also make sure you have the correct fluid level in the trans. Also did you have drive before u changed the fluid and filter?
