Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1995 Honda Passport with new rebuilt engine.
Seller is a good mechanic, asking $1,600.
Interior excellent condition, body too, needs painting.
I am hoping it would be a good investment.
Will parts be hard to come by.

I wouldn't look it as an investment but more a liability, these rigs are what you would call mixed, Isuzu engine, GM transmission, and the rest Honda. They are underpowered, get bad fuel mileage for the engine size, and as that one is a 95 the pits to diagnose any engine management problems. But the price seems fair with the rebuild if he has the receipts for parts and any labor like head work. But as always take it to your mechanic or a shop that does used car checks and have it looked at, it is money well spent especially if they find something unforeseen. HTH
