Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My epc light turned on a while ago and since then
my engine won’t crank over, my battery is dead, I
have no exhaust or rear window, it’s my first project
car and I just want to get it running, any ideas of
what it might be?

EPC light comes on when there's an issue with your throttle system. The Accelerator pedal, cruise control, throttle body, traction control. But if your battery is bad it could be a cause of the issue as well. First start with the battery and get that going and make sure the cable are good as well. Because if your battery is bad then other lights and issues will occur.

I have a 2007 passat wagon 2.0T. It is a long story but it all boiled down to corrosion on several grounds and wiring. There was a rusty relay a broken wire under the hood somewhere and also wiring was really dirty under the hood. So after cleaning rhe wires up cleaning the ground points and fixing the broken wire oh and replacing a relay it started right up. Sorry but I cant be any more specific my friend did all the work.
