Touch screen got wet; lost some functions

Asked by LLSween May 21, 2018 at 11:26 PM about the 2010 Ford Flex Limited AWD with EcoBoost

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had a leak around my sunroof one stormy night, and the face of my touch screen got wet.  At first, nothing worked, but its gradually gained some life.  It takes about 90 seconds for the audio system to come on after I start the car, and I can control it now, but I have no detailed listing of what I'm listening to.  The GPS map & navigation system are unavailable, and I have a constant message about being in "Fail Safe Mode", and that a "system fault" has occurred.  Is this something that can be reset, or am I looking at a costly repair?

You can try to have the screen cleaned and recalibrated but I think the unit will have to be replaced.
