2008 Uplander issues

I have a 2008 Chevy Uplander van. I have recently had the following work
done: both front hub assemblies replaced, new fuel pump installed. There
was a horrible rattle I keep hearing since the driver side Hub assembly was
replaced. Mechanic can't find the issue. Then today I could start the van but
it would not come out of park. The Gear Shifter moved - freely only able to
catch on one level of drive - but the van remained in park. The indicator
remained in park. Could these issues be related? How do I fix the not getting
out of park so I can get it to a mechanic?

Have you figured out the problem? I have a 2008 uplander ls 3.9 same problem except mine will be okay but if i leave it idling for a couple mins without driving it loses communication with the transmission and you can move the shifter but the red light stays on the park position
