after how many miles to change timing chain/
After how many miles should you change the timing chain? And does it have a chain or belt? And how many miles can you get out of the trasmission? And does the mustang last for alot of yars if kept up?One more question? What's the most miles have been known to get out of the mustang with the origional motor and trans?
What engine is in your Mustang? 3.8L, 4.6L, 5.0L? Typically mfg. recommends timing chain replacement at @100k miles. Do you have a manual or automatic transmission? Both transmissions are fairly robust Ford designs and will give you many years of good service. With proper maintenance it's not uncommon to get 200k+ miles. You will want to make sure you do regular (30K interval) transmission fluid and filter changes for an automatic, and service your manual trans as needed (clutch replacements, clutch fluid, etc.)
