my 1997 yukon slt has the 4x4 option by clicking the switch but i always keep it in 2hi is my truck a 4wd awd or what?
Put up on Jack stands. No tire should touch the ground. Lock in regular drive make sure front tires don't moved.
it is 4WD AWD and 2WD lol. 2wd is for nonslick spring summer and fall time driving winter time the 4WD HI will work for slick roads just dont take on freeway it is best for 30 to 35MPH in slick conditions. this is basicaly the AWD protion. then you have 4WD Lo this is if you are stuck this is low speed high torque conditions. with the pushbuttons you should be able to shif on the fly which means if you are driving in town and start to slide out you can ingage the 4WD Hi side and get the traction that you need. cornering is tought it will skip the wheels being both are turning at the same rate in 4WD if it is slick take the corners slow in 4WD
