Question type: General

okay so i have a 2015 ford mustang v6 which is running around 300 horspeower and
280 lb ft@4000rpm
my friend has a 1997 pontiac formula v8 which i think is only 285 horsepower.
we've raced before on the freeway but nothing ever serious. but generally speaking his
car has the bigger motor obviously but mine has more horsepower and is more newer
but im only running a 3.7L?  which car is faster

In my opinion it all depends on a persons driving skills...both cars are close in horsepower...

Horsepower to weight ratio is important, but also is final gear ratio. I agree with Joe, it's a drivers race.

I'll take the Mustang-

I agree, the driver is an unknown factor. But, lest you think it's all about engine size, take a look at this surprising performer and its a Four. Don't know if it is faster, but, it sure would be interesting. http://m.caranddriver.com/reviews/2015-subaru-wrx-sti-first-drive-review
